Product Owner

What?

We are seeking a dynamic Product Owner to join our team and play a pivotal role in our product development process. As a key member of our team, you will have the unique responsibility of bridging the gap between user needs and development teams, thereby enhancing the experience and effectiveness of our deliverables (full product or some features). 

We have three cooperation models: team extension, managed team, and product team. Your responsibility would be in a third cooperation setup where we speak with the business owner or product manager on the customer side. Your job would be to do product/feature discovery, create a roadmap, refine the backlog, and monitor if the team is implementing the right features.

In this role, you will:

  • Work in presales
    • The product owner is support in the presales process, and his job is well-defined scope of work, while sales representative is responsible for sending proposals and further negotiation
    • Work with customers and the development team to fully understand and conceptualize features and workflows
    • Facilitate the discovery workshop to ask the right questions, capture notes, build proposals and development plans
  • Work on projects
    • The main responsibility on projects is backlog health based on inputs and priorities from customers
    • Perform impact mapping and user story mapping to create clear and detailed user stories
    • Collaborating with the Agile Scrum team on all new feature development, including:
      • Creating backlog through a collaborative approach with the customer and development team
      • Reviewing and approving user stories
      • Tracking that all criteria are addressed as demonstrated in the design, test plan, and final release
      • Answering questions from developers to remove impediments and facilitate efficient development
      • Participating in agile team ceremonies such as sprint refinements, reviews, and demos
      • Document gathered requirements and developed features
  • Work in SmartCat Labs (our Research and Development)
    • Work with the Growth Team to create a plan for internal solutions needed for sales efforts
    • Take responsibility for driving internal solutions to a level of readiness for internal usage and demos to customers
    • Create quarterly goals and work with the delivery team to achieve them

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant fields (candidates with engineering degree will have priority)
  • You know product lifecycle and have proven experience translating ideas to releasable deliverables
  • You are comfortable researching problems, facilitating, building consensus, and resolving issues
  • You are curious and ask why as many times as needed, even if you are risking it will be too much for the audience
  • You are good at analyzing software from the end-user perspective
  • You build trust, communicate, and collaborate well with others
  • You take initiative and are a self-starter related to tasks, requests, and documentation
  • You have a collaborative, can-do spirit and you are not afraid to ask others for help
  • You have a growth mindset which will allow you to work to solve real problems for our customers
  • You have experience working in Agile development
