In a world where terms like quiet quitting, lazy girl jobs, and soft employment have entered everyday vocabulary, the modern workforce is making one thing clear: we need to rethink work. From Gen Z’s boundary-setting to millennials’ re-evaluation of purpose, the pressure is on companies to respond with more than just perks.

At SmartCat, we’re not reacting, we’ve been ready.

Well-being isn’t a trend. It’s a foundation.

Long before the pandemic normalized remote work, we had already embraced a hybrid culture. Why? Because we’ve always believed that flexibility and well-being go hand in hand, and are essential for sustainable productivity.

To support this, we built our Knowledge Center , a structured platform for:

  • growth planning and upskilling,
  • mentorship and knowledge exchange,
  • personal development aligned with team goals,
  • and above all, autonomy with accountability.

A Shift in Perspective Begins with a Shift in Setting

Sometimes, the best way to solve complex problems is to step out of the office, and into nature. That’s why we regularly organize offsite workshops and strategic retreats at Mokrin House, a modern coliving and coworking hub tucked into rural northern Serbia.

It’s not just beautiful. It’s intentional.

Mokrin House offers:

  • fully-equipped digital infrastructure,
  • serene environments that boost creativity,
  • organic food and locally sourced wellness,
  • and above all,  the kind of mental reset you can’t get on Slack.

It’s no coincidence we also partnered with MoKids 2025, a summer educational camp for children that teaches sustainability, craftsmanship, and community values, the same ones we nurture at work.

MoKids Project

Kids learn to grow tomatoes. We learn to grow trust.

By supporting initiatives like MoKids, we’re not just backing healthier futures for kids, we’re reinforcing what we believe makes better adults: curiosity, responsibility, and balance.

The Future of Work Isn’t in Offices. It’s in Ecosystems.

Burnout isn’t just a personal issue, it’s an organizational responsibility. And solving it takes more than offering gym memberships or beanbags.

It takes a deep understanding of what people need:
* to grow (knowledge),
* to reset (perspective),
* and to belong (community).

At SmartCat, we’re proud to say we’ve embedded all three, in our workflows, our values, and yes, even in the countryside.
