Before forming SmartCat, my partners and I had vast experience working with (and for) traditional web development companies. When it came time to start our own thing, we tried to apply the same processes and steps to build a data science team. It was quickly obvious that this would be a long learning process, and we needed to adjust our way of thinking if we hoped to bring AI projects successfully into production.

Hyper-personalization is a process of using data analytics and collection tools, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning algorithms to process that data and automate experience creation, tailored to customers’ needs, in real-time.

MarTech isn’t going anywhere. Our mindset is shifting. We should start thinking about technology as a tool, not as an end-goal. In our vast industry experience, companies tend to integrate technology, and then base their strategies around them, when it should be vice-versa – create a strategy and then pick tools that help you achieve your business objectives.

The standards we have set for ourselves and the work we do reflect the standards of our service provided to the clients. Life’s too short. Do it right or don’t do it at all. Aim to impress.

I lived in the US for 13 years, and moving back to Serbia was as much of a culture shock as it was for me to arrive in the US when I was 17. Having truly grown up “on the other side of the pond” (as locals say), especially in the professional sense of that word, I realized how backward management is in most companies.
